For its celebrations on its 200 year anniversary, the village hosted its first International Furnace Festival in 2024. This year, the Festival will be part of 'Folk Wisdom. Our way back' event. Louis Crommelin, a Huguenot from northern France, discovered iron ore nearby and built a blast furnace. Although the furnace never successfully worked and still stands in the village, the surrounded landscape was transformed by the iron mines.
